description
October was considerably warmer than average and almost rainless.
This is one of the hottest Octobers since the beginning of measurments, and in the Eastern parts of the country, the hottest during daytime. In other areas, it ranks as the second or the third in the last eighty years. September, too, was exceptionally hot, which makes the last two months unprecedently hot.
October was exceptional with its scarse precipitation. Since the establishment of Israel, there have been only three more cases in which October has been similarly dry.
