May temperatures were close to average and relatively large amounts of rain fell in the south and east of the country, mostly in an usual event at the end of the month. In other areas there was little rainfall and in some of them there was no rainfall at all. Thus the 2022/23 rainfall season ends with lower-than-average rainfall, but in most areas not significantly – on a country wide level the amounts reach nearly 90% of average. The southern and eastern parts of the country were rainier than average.

There were several Sharav events during the month of May, which were mostly short-lived. On the other hand, there were several cool weather episodes, so in summary the month was near the temperature average.
